The best Chemistry lesson…

July 7th, 2008 | by Saf |

Hi,

Doctor Who was brilliant on Saturday. The season finale. It was great. I’m kinda sad that they aren’t gonna start a new series until 2010! But they are going to have four specials from Christmas to 2010. On a side note, hope Mickey and Martha come in Torchwood.

Tennis was… painful. Serena and Venus Williams played for just 59 minutes. Venus won (thankfully). And took home the exact same amount of money as the mens winner. Why should women get equal pay if they don’t play equal sets? Anyway, that’s a whole new topic. So Federer and Nadal. The final. It’s too painful. I can’t believe Nadal won. It should have been Federer. I can’t say anymore. It actually hurts inside. I feel for him. Poor guy.

So today. Didn’t do much. Embarassed myself and Jenny in front of Mr C. Again. T’was funny.

Chemistry was the best lesson ever. Mr Lund set almost a challenge and wrote down the structure of an Ester which he thought no-one would get and put it face down on the table. His precise words were, ‘I’ll be very impressed if anyone actually gets the structure and names it. If they do, they should give themselves a big pat on the back.’

I GOT IT!!!

I drew it and named it and he was well impressed. When he showed me his paper, it was the same as what I drew and I had this big foolish grin on my face for the rest of the lesson. He kept saying Well Done. And then I named Aspirin that he drew on the board and was also blown away because he didn’t expect anyone to know. And then named Salycilic Acid which he also drew on the board. I was on fire! Although, admittedly I had a bit of a background knowledge what with the Open Uni Course! Needless to say, I’m still giving myself that big pat on the back. :)

Other then that, nothing.

Over and Out.

:)
